Joseph Goddard, private....Virginia line received Pension $80 March 25, 1833, Age 73 (under the Act of June 7, 1832)

Capt Blackwell's 6th CO, 10th Reg. ..One year in his 3yr service, Jos. was promoted to Corporal.....was in 1st CO, 2nd Batt, 1st Reg, Light Infantry Brigade. ...Jos. was separated from the corp after battle of Stont Point and from the army in Sep1779. Discharge from Col. John Green...He signed marriage bond with Frances Glasscock in Fauquier Co, VA, 19Oct1779......they had 13 children..moved to Harrison Co, OH with parents, farmed for 10yrs in OH and Brooke Co, now part of WV..moved to Fleming Co, KY in 1797, built house on Sand Lick Creek beside Flemingsburg Road...joined Methodism donated an acre of land beside their home for what is still the Goddard Methodist Church. He died in 1844 and is buried in cemetery behind the church. Frances joined some of her children in Vevay, Indiana and died the next year.....
