MARRIAGE,DEATH: Civil War Pension Application of his widow Terresse Ann Roe
lists date and place of death.
CIVIL WAR: Military records in the National Archives indicate his dates of
service in Co D 22nd KY Inf. were 24 Oct 1861 to 30 Jun 1862. He was charged
with desertion on 22 Mar 1863. He was reported to be ill several times from Jan
through June 1862 and is listed as AWOL for Jul 1862 through Feb 1863.
The desertion charge was rescinded in 1885 and discharge date was set at 30 Jun
1862.
