Clark Cemetery, located in Section 26 of Walnut Township on the west side of State Route 775.
This is up on a hill on the property of J. L. Backley.  Cemetery is overgrown.  The inscriptions from the stones were copied July 31, 1977.  There were other Clarks buried in this same plot.

Based on childrens births, moved from Giles, Virginia to Gallia, Ohio between 1822-1825

William lived in two-story log house on SandFork 1/2 mile north of Lecta. William served in War of 1812. 13 October 1817 Giles Survey Bk. 1, pg. 242 William entered a survey for 170 acres between the two Stoney Creeks adjacent to David and Andrew Johnson and Snidow.He sold land to Thomas Clark (probably Jr.) in 1819 Giles Co., VA. 25 June 1841 Gallia Co., OH US to William Clark SE 1/4 of NE 1/4 and the NE 1/4 of the SE 1/4 of sec. 35 in Twp. 4 Range 16 for 80 acres. 1 August 1848 Gallia Co., OH US to William Clark SE 1/4 of the SE 1/4 of sec. ? in Twp. 16 for 40 acres. William lived in a two story log house on Sand Fork, about one half mile North of Lecta, known as the John Notter farm. All of his children removed to IL except William H.
