Rachel is buried on Buzzard Roost, just above the Chevron station on the south side of the 4 lane. This is on Alt 58 in Castlewood. She is buried on old man Hurd's farm. You have to walk up a steep hill and there is an old cemetery(Now owned by Johnsons 6-03 visited)

Russell County Virginia Law Order Book No. 7 page 47 March 6, 1823
It is ordered to be certified to the War Department of the United States that it is satisfactory proven to this court that Rachel Ring is the widow and relict of Stephen Ring deceased late a private in the Army of the United States, that she resides in this county and is unmarried.

Found on 1840 as female, 60-70 yrs, David Ring head of household

Russell Co.,VA Law Order Book 7, p. 233, Nov. 2, 1824. "Rachel Ring appeared in court and stated her husband Stephen Ring was a private in the late war with Great Britain, and died." The children she named are recorded here.

Stephen and Rachel Ring moved to Russell County, Virginia prior to 1810 when Stephen Ring was listed on the 1810 Personal Property Tax list. Stephen Ring served in the United States Army in the War of 1812 and died while enlisted. The Russell County Virginia Law Order Book No. 7 page 233 lists " the sons and daughters and all the sons and daughters and heirs at law of Stephen Ring" as follows:

declaring that the land grant of 160 acres in Fulton Co, AR was being awarded to Stephen Ring's heirs, due to his death in the War of 1812 against the British.
